This week's CVS run is built around a $50 gift card that pays for itself — and then some. Five transactions, $44 of ExtraBucks rolled from one to the next, and you walk out with over $98 of product plus a $50 gift card for $51.82 total.

Here's the part that matters: the gift card keeps its full $50 of value. So once you subtract it, all $98+ of product effectively costs you $1.82 — about 98% off.

Don't want the gift card? Skip Transaction 1 and the same product comes to $16.82, which is still 83% off. It just costs you the $15 ExtraBuck that makes the rest of the chain so cheap.

⚠️ One Note on Transaction 2

Transaction 2 rings up at $1.88 out of pocket — that's the confirmed register total, and every figure in this post is built on it.

Worth knowing if you're checking our work: the six items as priced add to $31.94, and the coupons are the $10 off $30 Beauty coupon plus the $5 off 2 Axe digital. That's $15 off, leaving $16.94, and after the $15 ExtraBuck from Transaction 1 the arithmetic lands on $1.94 — six cents above the actual $1.88. One of the shelf prices is a few cents under what's listed. It's a rounding-level difference, not a broken deal.

🛒 Before You Shop

The whole strategy here is rolling. You do one deal, the ExtraBucks print on your receipt, and you spend those ExtraBucks on the next deal. That's why these have to be five separate transactions — combine them and the chain breaks, because you can't spend an ExtraBuck that hasn't printed yet.

Do them in order, 1 through 5. Each transaction's payment depends on the rewards from the one before it.

ExtraBucks Rewards are coupons that print at the register when you buy qualifying products. They're dollars off your next purchase, they're store credit rather than cash, and they expire — so check the date on each one.

Tax is separate. Every ExtraBuck and coupon comes off the pre-tax total, so plan on a few dollars of tax across the five trips.
